So, you're a member of the emergency services, you've been given the start date for your response course, and now you're spending every evening reading Roadcraft and preparing yourself for theory exam? But maybe in the back of your mind you've got a nagging doubt that your level of driving might not be where it needs to be, and you're concerned that you might not keep up with the pace of your response driving course? If that sounds like you, then we can help!

Preparing for Blues & Twos

There's no question that an emergency services response driving course is intense.  It will demand all of your concentration, and you won't have time to eradicate those bad habits while you're also learning to drive on the wrong side of the road, on blues, at speed, while also dealing with everything that the motoring public can throw at you.

No matter if you're a police officer who is destined to be driving response cars and vans, a firefighter who is destined to be driving HGVs, or an EMT/Paramedic who will be driving ambulances and fast response cars, then we can help you. 

ZED School has experience of this (because we've been there!), so we can help you to prepare.  We can offer dedicated training that is specifically designed to bring your driving to a point where you are ready for your blue light course.  Your bad habits will be eleminated, your confidence boosted, your observation skills raised, and your instructor will offer you their real-world knowledge and experience of driving emergency services vehicles in response mode. 

Eligibility

This is specialised training, and it's only available to those who genuinely need it.  We will seek proof that you're a serving member of the emergency services, and that you have a response driving course scheduled with your employer.  Your training will hone your driving skills to a level way beyond what is expected for a standard DVSA driving test. You'll learn accurate car positioning, advanced observation & planning skills, the system of car control (IPSGA) as described in Roadcraft, and get experience with providing commentary while you're driving.  By the end of your training you'll be in the perfect place to start on your blue light driving course.

(Don't worry - you won't be driving around in a driving school car with L plates on the roof!)
