About Rich
Hello my name is Rich, I am the founder and owner of ZED School, and I am a fully qualified DVSA Approved Driving Instructor (ADI).
I moved to Sussex in 2013 having grown up in Surrey, and I spent the first two decades of my career traveling the world as part of my work.
I have a passion for driving and have held my car licence for over 30 years. Since then I have achieved two Advanced Driving qualifications with IAM Roadsmart for cars and commercial vehicles, and have been 'collecting' additional driving licence categories ever since.
My Driving Skills
I have a full licence to drive:
- Cars (Category B licence)
- Motorcycles (Category A licence)
- Minibuses (Category D1 licence)
- HGV 7.5 tonnes (Category C1 licence)
- HGV rigid (Category C licence)
- HGV articulated (Category CE licence)
- ...and a smattering of other arguably less-useful categories too!
My Training Skills
I have a long history of delivering technical training to students across the world. In another part of my life I am a professional electronics and software engineer, I routinely teach engineers how to design digital microchips, and how to code in various programming languages.
I enjoy helping others to become better drivers, and I take great pride in teaching the 'why' as well as the 'how'. I firmly believe if people understand why they are doing something, they will become much more capable than someone who just learns to do it because they've been told to do it.
