Pass Plus Launch

Pass Plus Launch

Continuing the expansion of our training offerings, we are delighted to announce that ZED School is now registered to deliver Pass Plus courses!

If you're not familiar with Pass Plus, it's a six hour training programme that can be taken by any full-licence holder but is primariy aimed at those who have passed their driving test in the last 12 months.  Upon successful completion, a Pass Plus certificate can be requested and this can give you discounts on your car insurance with some insurance providers.

The Pass Plus course offers additional training on some of the trickier situations in which new drivers might find themselves:

  • in town (particularly complex junctions and multi-lane environments)
  • in all weathers
  • on rural roads (narrow lanes, unlit roads, passing other traffic safely)
  • at night
  • on dual carriageways (slip roads, overtaking, lane discipline)
  • on motorways (motorway signs, larger junctions and interchanges, fatigue management, correct lane usage, hard shoulder training)

In order to deliver Pass Plus training a driving instructor has to be registered to teach the Pass Plus syllabus, and they can then offer deliver the additional practical training to students.   Training is designed to be 100% in-car, and you will spend around 5.5 hours actually driving during the course.  The training can be split up over several lessons, allowing you to fit everything in to your schedule.  There is no additional driving test required, but you will be assessed throughout the training by your instructor.
